The Inn at WestShire Farms Policies

Deposits:  Full payment in advance is required for all reserved rooms. Those desiring to book multiple rooms are asked to contact the Farm directly for the best rate.


Payment Methods:  The Inn accepts all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover, as well as Cash or Check.


Cancellation Policy:



  • You must call (540) 248-4650 or email info@westshirefarms.com to ensure your cancellation or date change request is received.

  • Properties our size are significantly impacted by cancellations. Therefore, reservations canceled two weeks (14 days) or less prior to the scheduled arrival date will be charged a $45 Cancellation Fee with the remaining balance of your reservation transferred to an Inn at WestShire Farms Gift Certificate.

  • Note, the Gift Certificate is for future accommodations at Inn at WestShire Farms only and has a 12-month time limit from the date of purchase. Use of the Gift Certificate is subject to availability.

  • Cancellations prior to 15 days of your arrival date will not be charged any fees and will receive a full refund to your credit card on file.

  • No shows and same day cancellations will be charged the full balance with no option for a Gift Certificate.


Check In/Check Out:  Check In is between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Late check-ins may be accommodated with advanced notice.  Check Out is no later than 11:00 AM.


Pet Rules and Fees:  We have three pet-friendly rooms available in the Millstone Barn (Darbyshire, Oxfordshire and Bristol) as well as the Cranbrook suite in the Windsor House. Dogs are welcome! Pre-notification is required. Due to occupancy requirements, no more than two pets are permitted in the room. There is a $25 fee for each pet, which is subject to taxes. This fee will not apply to guide dogs or service dogs.


Pets must always be on a controlled leash when not inside the guest room. They may use common areas for access to/from the guest room, but pets are not permitted to remain in common areas. The guest is responsible for cleaning up after the pet on the Farm grounds and properly disposing of the waste. Damages caused by the pet to room, its furnishings, or any other part of The Farm are the sole responsibility of the guests.


Pets that become disruptive to other guests will require alternative arrangement for lodging the pet. The pet fee will not be refunded once the pet has been in the guest room.


Children:  Children are permitted to stay when accompanied by an adult.  Pre-notification is required for children under 10. Whenever possible, we try to give families with children additional privacy, so all our guests have a restful stay. A $15 Extra Person Fee per Night applies over double occupancy.


Smoking:  For the safety and comfort of our guests the Farm is a smoke-free environment.  If you wish to smoke, you must do so no closer than 20 feet from any building.  Any smoking in the guest rooms will result in a $200 cleaning fee, which will be charged to the guest who booked the room. Smoking on guest room balconies is strictly prohibited.


Alcohol: The Farm is not currently licensed to sell or serve alcoholic beverages. Guests are free to bring these beverages to the Farm for their own consumption, but we ask that you do so responsibly. 


Event hosts who wish to serve their guests alcoholic beverages during an event must do so only after acquiring an appropriate Virginia ABC license and proof on liability insurance.  The Farm can assist guests in acquiring this license and insurance policy.


Bath Bombs:  Bath salts are provided to guests for use in the bathtubs of your guest room. “Bath bombs” (commercial or homemade bathtub oils and foaming soaps) are not permitted as they can damage our bathtubs. There will be a minimum charge of $100 for additional cleaning and/or any repairs if bath bombs are used. The credit card of the person who booked the room will be charged for any cleaning and/or damages.


Cleaning and Damages: Please be thoughtful about the use of food, drink and other items in your guest room that might stain towels, linens, carpeting, etc. We will do our best to remove stains that occur from normal use, but if linens, towels, or other Farm property are damaged beyond repair it will be the responsibility of the guest to pay for replacements.  The credit card of the person who booked the room will be charged for any cleaning and/or damages.
